I am going to be focussing on the concept of 24 hour fitness in the way that your body sees it.

Recently I saw a program on anorexic lifestyle. One girl had a BMI of 18 but a body fat count of 28% !
She ate very little and did very little exercise. Of course, how could she exercise with no fuel ?
One resource I was recently looking at discusses the relationship between burning calories and muscle mass.
